Album III

Wow! We are now three weeks into recording our third studio effort that will be released at the top of 2011. This past weekend we were in the studio for almost 32 hours, and some real magic happened! 15 songs have been written, and we will be recording all 15 of them. We will then trim down the album to about 10-12 songs total. This album is going to sound amazing!

This will also be the first time that Vinyl Soup has worked with a producer. We are extremely excited to be working with our good friend, Sean Miller. Sean is a audio & film professor at The Watkins School of Art in Nashville. Sean is co-producing the album with us, and it's been wonderful to have an outside and objective ear from someone of his expertise.

For the first time ever in the life of Vinyl Soup, I can honestly say that the chemistry for the band is the best it has ever been. Now with Mark behind the drum kit, everyone is on the same page artistically. The jams are going places they have never gone. It just goes to show that you can have an all star cast of musicians, but if everyone is not looking to go to the same place musically, then it's probably not going to work. This is why so many musicians spend their entire lives trying to find the right people to work with. I guess some find it quicker than others. This is working on all cylinders, and we are so excited!!!!! :)

On a final note, we would like to remind everyone that Vinyl Soup will be performing at The Watertown Music and Arts Festival in Watertown, TN. The show takes place Saturday July 10, 2010, and this will be our only live appearance this summer, due to recording our new album! We will take the stage at 4pm and play a 50 minute set. The show is free and all ages. We hope to see you all there!!!!
